My Sleepytime Golden Milk

There is a lot out there about bedtime rituals, routines, and all that. I am not going to preach to you about turning off the blue light devices and getting some shut eye. I am going to tell you that I enjoy drinking this in the evenings, and I believe it helps me settle down. Try it.

Makes enough for 2-3 servings. Put extra in fridge for tomorrow.

  • 1 can coconut milk (I use full fat but you can use light if you wish)

  • 1 T honey

  • 1⁄2 t vanilla

  • 1⁄2 ground cinnamon

  • 1⁄2 t ground turmeric

  • 1⁄4 ground ginger

  • 1⁄8 ground cardamom

  • 1 Celestial Seasonings Sleepytime tea bag (or chamomile or any other bedtime tea without caffeine)

  • Grated nutmeg, for garnish

Place tea bag in a cup and fill halfway with boiling water. Let steep. Place all other ingredients in a small saucepan and warm over medium heat, stirring occasionally, to meld flavors and melt honey. Pour into cup containing tea. Remove tea bag, grate a little nutmeg on top, and enjoy.
