I’m Catherine Pla, American by birth, French by marriage. I spent 9 years living and working in France, and at one point decided to take my cooking one step further by enrolling in culinary school, culminating in a degree from the Ecole du Cordon Bleu in Paris. Over the years, I’ve studied with chefs and cooks in France, Italy, and the U.S. and learned quite a bit from my French mother-in-law. I have taught at Sur la Table as a chef instructor, worked at Manresa Bread, and I teach cooking classes in your home or mine.
Hopefully the recipes you find here will inspire you to try something new and find fun and fulfillment in the kitchen. These days we are all so busy and sometimes cooking can seem like just another chore. My recipes aren’t fussy, and I share with you my strategies for making delicious and healthy food quickly and easily. I like to find great ingredients and cook from scratch in a simple manner, based on the way the French cook everyday. These recipes are tried and true, so you know they will work for you.

Happy cooking!
