Lemon-Lime Whiskey Sour with Honey

Cocktail

  • 2 oz rye whiskey, bourbon, or honey bourbon

  • 1 T (1⁄2 oz) lemon juice

  • 1 T (1⁄2 oz) lime juice

  • 1 oz honey syrup, or maple syrup

  • Cocktail cherry for garnish

  • Lemon and lime wedges, for garnish

Honey Syrup

Heat 1⁄2 cup honey with 1⁄3 cup water in a microwave-safe measuring cup. Stir. Extra syrup can be kept in the refrigerator for up to a month

Fill a cocktail shaker half full of ice. Add whisky, lemon juice, lime juice, and honey syrup. Shake 20 seconds until cold. Strain into an old fashioned or lowball glass filled with ice. Garnish with a cherry and a citrus slice.
