Makes 1 cocktail

Triple Citrus Whiskey Sour with Rosemary

Cocktail

  • 2 oz whiskey or bourbon

  • 3⁄4 oz mixed citrus juice, or just use lemon juice (I juice 1 orange, 1 lemon, and 1 lime)

  • 3⁄4 oz rosemary simple syrup (or plain simple syrup)

  • Orange round with a rosemary sprig, for garnish

Rosemary Simple Syrup

Heat 1⁄2 cup sugar with 1⁄2 cup water in a microwave-safe measuring cup or small saucepan on the stove to melt the sugar. Add a sprig of rosemary (or mint or thyme). Stir. Let steep 10 minutes, then strain and cool. Extra syrup can be kept in the refrigerator for up to a month

Fill a cocktail shaker half full of ice. Add whisky, citrus juice, and rosemary syrup. Shake 20 seconds until cold. Strain into an old fashioned or lowball glass filled with ice. Garnish with a orange slice and a rosemary sprig.
