Butterfly Pea Luxardo Gin Cocktail

Luxardo is an Italian maraschino liqueur made from sour Marasca cherries. If you don’t have Luxardo, just infuse a simple syrup (equal parts water and sugar) with butterfly pea powder and lavender.

Butterfly Pea Lavender Infused Luxardo

  • 1⁄4 c Luxardo maraschino liqueur

  • 1⁄2 t culinary lavender

  • 1⁄4 t butterfly pea powder

Cocktail

  • 1 oz butterfly pea lavender infused Luxardo

  • 2 oz gin

  • 1⁄2 oz fresh lemon juice

  • 3 oz prosecco

Infuse the Luxardo with the lavender and butterfly pea powder in a small bowl. Stir well then let steep 15 minutes. Strain.

Make the cocktail by adding the Luxardo and gin to a cocktail shaker half filled with ice. Shake vigorously to combine. Strain into a glass over ice and top off with prosecco. Slowly pour in lemon juice, stir and watch it turn from blue to purple!

Garnish with a slice of lemon and some mint leaves.
